Kūhiō Beach Hula Show – The Return of Kapaemahu – runs every Wednesday evening from January 22nd until February 26th.
A dramatic telling of the long-hidden story of the Healer Stones of Kapaemahu, a unique monument to healing and inclusion in the heart of Waikīkī. Directed by innovative kumu hula Patrick Makuakāne, The Return of Kapaemahu brings Hawaiʻiʻs historic reverence for māhū alive just steps from the sacred stones.
The Return of Kapaemahu will run, weather-permitting, from 6:30 – 7:30 pm at Kuhio Beach Hula Mound located beachside on Kalakaua, near the Duke Kahanamoku Statue. Free, outdoors, seating on the grass. No show if parade or block party closes the street.
After the show, visitors can get a picture with the cast, and visit the stones just a few steps down the beach.
