A new weekly series of performances by local cultural luminaries that celebrate the legend of Kapaemahu, four large stones on Waikīkī beach that honor the māhū, extraordinary individuals of dual male and female spirit who brought healing arts from Tahiti to Hawaiʻi.
Directed by Kumu Hula Patrick Makuakāne and sponsored by Lei Pua ʻAla Queer Histories of Hawaiʻi, the free performances will take place on the hula mound adjacent to the stones every Wednesday at sunset.
